Give colour, Basanti!

khone khone ko hai kya
ik saans me pija
zara zindagi chadha
hai ye toh ek jashan
tu thirakane de kadam
abhi saanso me hai dam
abhi chalne de sitam

these lyrics in 'Rang De Basanti' if listened to without knowing the writer, one would wonder if they were written by Gulzar. But it's Prasoon Joshi and you doff your hat to this guy who has written such a beautiful piece. Gulzar is the only person who gives poetry to the hindi films when others are busy writing songs. Now I'm happy that Joshi is doing the same. RDB is replete with these kind of words. Have a look:

kuchh kar guzarne ko khoon chala, khoon chala
aankhon ke seeshe me utarne ko khoon chala.
badan se tapak kar
zameen se lipatkar
galiyon se, raston se, ubharkar umadkar,
naye rang bharne ko khoon chala, khoon chala.

sawalon ki ungali, jawabon ki mutthi
(Now, I can imagine the fists of fury as response to injustice, hopelessness........)
